The works involved construction of a new childcare centre including a car park and external works.
The building envelope consisted of timber wall framing, rendered masonry external walls and a sheet metal roof. Internally the building was finished with vinyl floors, plasterboard linings and extensive joinery.
A number of specific items were incorporated into the design including finger guards to all doors, fibre optic lighting to sleep rooms, fabric wall linings and junior toilet suites. Externally the play area was constructed from 40mm thick artificial grass, with rubber padding installed under the grass in park areas. Acoustic fencing was installed to the perimeter of the play area to reduce noise to the adjoining properties.
