Ken Thompson Lodge - Armidale

Construction of a new 62 bed aged care facility. The building is a 4245m2 single storey brick veneer construction.

The site required cut and fill with half the building slab on the ground and half suspended on structural steel. The building design includes four resident wings (one specifically for dementia), a central common area and a commercial kitchen and laundry.

The external works includes four enclosed landscaped courtyards, 2 x 90,000L water tanks, a port cochere entry, staff carpark, visitor carpark, upgrade and extension of the council water and sewer mains and access road.

A 275KVA backup generator is included in the event of a power failure. The project is an outstanding addition to the New England region, with no other facility of this standard in the area.
